As a German-Filipino founder, I understand both sides: the urgent staffing needs of German healthcare institutions and the bureaucratic hurdles faced by Filipino professionals.
The name ILAVELA symbolizes this journey. Ilaw is the Tagalog word for ‘light,’ representing the clarity we bring to complex processes. Vela is the Latin and Spanish word for ‘sail,’ standing for the momentum we use to reach our goals.
We don’t just show the way; we pave it.
My mother, a Registered Midwife, faced these exact hurdles after migrating to Germany: lengthy credentialing processes, opaque requirements, and the profound experience of professional devaluation. A situation that threatened not only her career, but her entire professional identity. Watching essential expertise become invisible through bureaucracy is the foundation of my personal mission.
We founded ILAVELA to break this cycle. We support both sides professionally from the initial contact, through the professional recognition process, and into workplace integration.

ILAVELA operates as a strategy consultant and placement coordinator. The operational recruitment and placement of nursing staff in the Philippines is carried out exclusively by licensed partner agencies (private recruitment agencies) in compliance with the guidelines of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO).

If you contact us as a nursing professional and submit documents, such as a CV or proof of qualifications, we process this information in order to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. For any forwarding of your data in accordance with the second paragraph below, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
As a Foreign Recruitment Agency, we are not permitted to carry out recruitment activities directly in the Philippines. Your data will therefore only be forwarded to a licensed partner agency (Private Recruitment Agency) in the Philippines with your explicit consent in order to initiate the legally required process under the applicable DMW/MWO procedures. The Philippines is a third country for which the European Commission has not issued an adequacy decision. The transfer is therefore based on your explicit consent pursuant to Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. We will inform you of the specific recipient when requesting your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
6. Business Development with Healthcare Institutions (Postal Contact)
We contact healthcare institutions by post in order to present our services for the recruitment of Filipino nursing professionals. In this context, we process professional contact details of decision-makers, including name, form of address, position, institution and business address, as well as the date and content of our correspondence and any responses received.
The data originates from publicly available professional sources, such as the websites of the respective institutions, company publications, public registers, job advertisements and materials from professional events.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the targeted contact of institutions for which our services may be professionally relevant.
Business development activities are conducted selectively by post. Further contact takes place only to an appropriate extent and with due regard to any objection you may have made. Telephone or electronic contact is made only where the respective legal requirements for such contact are met.
Recipients: We do not disclose your contact details to third parties for their own advertising purposes. Where we use IT or cloud service providers to store or process our records, such providers receive the data solely within the scope of the respective service provided.

Applicant data will be deleted once the purpose for which it was collected no longer applies or you withdraw your consent, unless statutory obligations require further retention.
For data processed in connection with postal business development activities, the retention periods described in Section 6 apply.

When you access this website, our hosting provider automatically collects access data, such as your IP address, the date and time of access and browser type, in server log files.
